Brief Finds First Film Festival

Hello friends! I'm thrilled to share some exciting news with you all. My short film Brief has been accepted to the highly acclaimed Lift-Off Global Network Short Film Festival.

When Calvin, Abby, and I first embarked on this creative endeavor, it was just a somewhat goofy project we wanted to work on. However, as classes needed a project, we realized we could really do something with this. We added a few extra folks and got to work and it was one of the craziest three-week periods of my life.

Receiving acceptance into the Lift-Off Global Network Short Film Festival is truly an honor. This renowned festival showcases exceptional upcoming talent from all corners of the world and provides a platform for emerging filmmakers like myself to showcase their work to a global audience. Being among the chosen few to participate in this esteemed event is both humbling and exhilarating.

I couldn't have reached this milestone without the support and dedication of an incredible team. From talented actors who brought the characters to life, to the crew positions our actors filled to ensure every frame looked as amazing as we could manage, each person played a vital role in the success of the project. Their collective efforts and unwavering commitment brought the vision of Biref to fruition.

The Lift-Off Global Network Short Film Festival offers a unique opportunity to connect with fellow filmmakers, industry professionals, and passionate film lovers. It's a chance to share experiences, exchange ideas, and immerse oneself in a vibrant community of creative minds. I eagerly look forward to engaging with like-minded individuals and expanding my network within the industry.

I'm immensely grateful to Lift-Off Global Network for recognizing the potential of my short film Brief and providing a platform for it to be seen. This acceptance is not only a personal triumph but a testament to the passion, hard work, and perseverance required in the filmmaking process. It's a reminder that if I keep waiting to be the "best" I will never make it. I have to risk being first and finding out if I am "good enough." Scary, but exciting! So much went not the way I hoped or expected, and what we couldn't fix in our time, we certainly learned from. Dave Ramsey said it best: "Pain is not my preferred method of learning, but it is a thorough teacher."
